4/18(金)〜5/18(日)に「産地の土産ばなし展」開催!

"Local Souvenirs Story Exhibition" will be held from April 18th (Fri) to May 18th (Sun)!

My name is Minami Mirai and I am in charge of editing, writing and photography for " Masukichi - Accommodation, Cafe, Souvenirs and Guide " (formerly known as Hitotsuchi) .
Today we would like to announce the "Souvenirs from Portugal, Morocco and Tunisia Exhibition," which we are planning ourselves!

The Minami family, who run Masukichi, went on a family trip to Portugal and Morocco for a month starting in mid-January this year. Our owner, Shintaro Minami, left me and my son and continued traveling alone for another month, visiting Tunisia and other Mediterranean countries.

Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, where we live, is a pottery production center.
What kind of city is the world's pottery production center?
With this fantasy in mind, I set off on a trip with my three-year-old son.

There is very little information about the origin.
In the meantime, we will be meeting local pottery shop owners and artisans, and will be exhibiting the pottery, crafts, and souvenirs they brought back with them.
We hope you will enjoy looking at and touching the items, and have a "souvenir talk" with us!

A pottery that makes azulejos (tiles) located on the outskirts of Lisbon.
Tamgroot, a village near the desert in Morocco, has been making pottery for over 500 years.

Everything I ate in Portugal was delicious.

I am looking forward to talking not only about the origins of our products, but also with all of you who love to travel.

At MUJI, Kataoka has been involved in projects such as Found MUJI, MUJI HOTEL GINZA, and ATELIER MUJI GINZA, and is currently in charge of Re MUJI at the AEON Mall Kashihara store in Nara Prefecture.

Found MUJI travels to various production areas around the world to discover wonderful everyday items, transforming them into unique MUJI items and offering them to the public.

I met Kataoka at the special exhibition "Listening to the Voice of the Soil from Seto" held last autumn, and we had a great time during a talk event in Portugal. Inspired by this, I decided to go to Portugal.

This time, he is coming all the way from Nara Prefecture, as he is a big fan of Portuguese crafts and culture!

On this day, we will be serving the souvenir wine we bought in Portugal at the cafe! Please come and visit us!
