At Sakusuke Kiln, which has been in operation since the Edo period, clay is made from raw clay in the workshop, and glazes are made from natural ingredients based on natural ash. The compatibility with the clay is important for the traditional Oribe and Kiseto glazes. For this reason, they continue to preserve tradition while dealing with natural ingredients that change from time to time.

After your guide, Shintaro Minami, the representative of Hitotsuchi, shows you around the Akazu area where the workshop is located, you will be given a special tour of the workshop by Keishi Kato, the sixth generation head of the family and a holder of Aichi Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property.
